It was reported on Calcalist that Israel Canada, controlled by Barak Rosen and Asaf Touchmair, will expand its activities in the hotel sector to Greece and, within this framework, has purchased a hotel in the Greek capital Athens and intends to purchase additional hotels in the city. This follows the advanced negotiations the company conducted to buy two hotels in Athens and one of the Greek islands, which include 120-130 rooms at a cost of about 20 million dollars.
Israel Canada began operating in the hotel sector in 2019 when it established the subsidiary Israel Canada Hotels, and today the company owns nine hotels in Israel with 1,100 rooms and another 1,000 rooms in projects under construction. Last July, Menorah Mivathim entered as a partner in the subsidiary and owns 15% of it at a value of NIS 590 million.
